LETTING GO
The day in the picture was the first day of spring and though the air was delightful the water was colder than cold....... The ball flew in from the beach and was on its way across the pond in a matter of seconds much to the dismay of a 3 year old boy, the soon to be former owner! The boy wanted to go in after it, however, his mother in her wisdom explained: “sometimes we just have to let things go”.
As human, we all have a hard time letting go from time to time. Whether it is things, thoughts, feelings or habits, sometimes we just have to let things go. What are you holding on to that you probably ought to release. The beach ball out of reach in icy water is easy, start with something easy, a bunch of files that date back to the ’70 or the set of dishes that you haven’t used in 10 years but take up a lot of space. After you get good with the “stuff” move into the more challenging that relationship that causes nothing but pain or the one where you have simply grown apart or that grudge you have been carrying for years....... perhaps a habit that really doesn’t serve you or perhaps an outdated belief.....
I think you will find that when you start to let go of the things, thoughts, feelings and habits that no longer serve, there will be plenty of room for new fresh life to appear - Not unlike weeding the garden in the spring so the flowers have room to grow and blossom.
My challenge to you this week is to list all the things, thoughts, feelings and habits that you need to let go of and begin to make it so.
Trust yourself to know what is best for you!
If you really want something a way can be found.
Be still and the way will come to you.
