HAVING FUN

If time flies when you are having fun, I must be having a lot of fun for it is the end of July and I am officially the poster child for lazy crazy summer days...... Mid June I was a bit behind but I wasn’t too concerned for I was getting ready to move....... Now it is almost August. I am in Florida, however, I am house hunting and enjoying a bit of breathing space. The other day I looked at my vision board and balance wheel and realized that I needed to readjust my daily priorities a bit. I have always believed that the journey is as important or perhaps even more important than the destination, however, sometimes the journey needs a bit of tweaking..... Especially if the destination will be the beginning of another great journey!

FAVORITE PLACES

Anyone who knows me well knows that one of my favorite places to be and think is at the beach. Looking out to sea. As I now live on the west coast of Florida this is the Gulf of Mexico. Imagination comes from within and the clear yet living vision before me allows my mind to quiet and then come alive. Where do you go to find your quiet place to come alive. Some people can simply shut their eyes ---- others need a ritual ---- no matter, the important thing is to know what you need to quiet your mind and come alive, and to go there often.

FLYING

Having a vision and planning how to get there is good, but taking those first, second, third, forth..... steps are what make life purposeful, passionate, prosperous and fun. Have you ever watched the way a sand bird takes off, they run a bit to get up speed - tree birds seem to leap from the branch and catch the wind before they crash to the earth. When they are on the ground they seem to adapt. It doesn’t really matter where you are what is important is that you move and before you know it you too will fly........

2nd HALF

Do you ever think about what it really means to live a balanced life? I had a lot of thinking time on my way to Florida and I came to appreciate just how totally different each segment of life is. Not in the obvious ways, we all know that relationships are different from work which is different from environment etc. In those ways they are different yet connected, if one is not working right all the others suffer.

I was thinking about the time and energy each segment requires to stay in balance. I then thought about the time and energy wasted worrying about how well we are doing in any one area.....

Then I thought about how large businesses are run! Quarterly - Quarterly targets, reviews and rewards..... They don’t and we don’t do the same things each quarter. Each individual will have different priorities each quarter. Your business cycles will effect your personal cycles and vice versa..... I think this merits more thought
