JANUARY 2009

Friday, January 30, 2009

Yesterday I experienced one of “those” days - Choosing to enjoy everything was a challenge.  Frustration took charge most of the day and if I were to retell the story there would be an expletive or two to be deleted.  At the end of the day I was simply glad it was over.  Looking back, there is no question I did not do what I had intended, however, I do have a super new printer and if I ever become a stand up comedian I have another skit to add the the squirrels story.  It really is all about perspective.  The job is to shift perspective and allow yourself to choose a different feeling in the middle of the challenge.  I feel confident that it will be a bit easier next time.  Today is going to be fun!!

This morning it is snowing ---- and yesterday I saw another robin.  I still have a choice.  Today, I am going to make every moment count, I am going to choose to enjoy everything and I am going to make it exciting and fun.

Monday, January 26, 2009

We really do have a choice.  Events happen, the other morning I woke up and looked out the window and saw a robin on a tree branch - instant joy - spring is coming.......  If that robin had not been on the branch, I could have looked out and seen the snow on the neighbors roof and thought,  will this winter ever end?  Or, oh great I can go skiing!!  Or, this has been a really long cold winter I am so grateful I have a warm home......I do have the choice.   Today, I intend to be exceedingly happy!

Keep your promises to your to yourself.  When a commitment is made, put it in writing  and read it every morning.  then ask yourself: What can I do today to move in the direction of my commitment?  The actions you take to keep your promises to yourself will pay off in increased energy......which will inspire you to take more action.....Your see where this can go.

Wednesday, January 21, 2009

Yesterday we all saw what commitment could do.  Commitment to a dream.  Your dream is no less important - It is no less possible.  Commitment is the key.

Monday, January 19, 2009

You have decided - Your have committed - do you believe?  belief is the key.

One of the things about resolutions that I have never liked is that feeling that some how it must be all or nothing - and it usually ends up as nothing.  With evolutionary change, my expectation is gradual change and growth.  I have 5 decisions for 2009, one of which is to be at a target weight by summer.  I know that what ever I do to get there has to be something I can live with long after summer is gone, so I am letting it evolve.  I am trying different approaches....... I am having success and I am learning some things that simply don’t work to well.  And I am enjoying the process!!

Plan your hours to be productive.  Plan your weeks to be educational.  Plan your years to be purposeful.  Plan your life to be an experience of growth.  Plan to change.  Plan to grow.

>> Iyanla Vanzant

I think this weeks quote says it all.  As we move into the planning, decision  making and commitment phase of the year.  How better to break down the time activities!

Wouldn’t it have been fun to be at lunch yesterday with all the presidents......It made me think of the importance of having a team of advisors.  They can be real and in person like a tax accountant, a real estate advisor, a medical advocate,  a lawyer, a coach, or a spiritual advisor.......  They can also be people who are in your life now or someone who has passed or  someone you know you will never meet, either alive or from history.  You can read about them or read what they have written.  When you face a challenging situation you can pose a question, if you can not speak with them in person, think from their perspective.

To be a part of evolutionary change in 2009,

maybe you need a coach........ I have one!

So far so good!!  I made my list of 21 great things for 2008.  For me it was hard and I do daily celebrations......2008 was not my best year and I wanted my list of 21 to be really special like seeing Tina Turner, having dinner with my niece (east coast west coast) and Obama being elected!!!  I decided to keep a list of the best of 2009...... Every day I think of something new that I hope makes the list ---- It really keeps me positively focused, an unexpected perk!!

FEBRUARY 2009

Friday, February 27, 2009

Did you take a step out of you comfort zone and into your dream....?  This weekend  as we transition from February to March, take some time to re-visit your commitments. your dreams and your choices.  Are they congruent?  What’s working and what needs a bit of adjustment.  Do you need any help - a partner, a friend or a coach?  Please don’t let your commitments and dreams slip away.  And do something fun and / or creative this weekend!!  Here in the North East it looks like March is going to come in like a lion - the last blast of winter if we are lucky!  Enjoy!!

Wednesday, February 25, 2009

Commitment and freedom --- Today, I challenge you to step out of your comfort zone and into your dream!  Embrace it and celebrate it!  Feel your dream!

Monday, February 23, 2009

With the quote above there is really nothing left for me to say!  I invite you to risk freedom.  LEARN, FEEL, CHANGE, GROW, OR LIVE..........

Friday, February 20, 2009

Yesterday I was challenged to choose my attitude!  First the sub-directories of my address book were empty, then all information except for e-mail addresses was gone from many contacts and finally I started getting 2 copies of each e-mail.  I sat quietly for a moment and realized that the directory issue was not a system error but an operator goof.  The information loss was most likely related in some strange way.  I fixed it and went on with my day.  I never did figure out why I was getting double e-mail but that stopped so........ I probably lost about an hour, but think how much more I would have lost if I had not kept my positive attitude.  A bonus - I got my address book cleaned up a bit.  Have a great weekend and be sure to do something FUN!

Wednesday, February 18, 2009

Have you ever noticed that when you feel free you also feel empowered and positive.  I did go out and play in the sunshine on Monday (see my blog).  That was a powerfully positive experience.  Think about when you feel positive and when you feel negative, I think you’ll notice a correlation between your positive and negative feelings and your sense of freedom.  Hold on to your sense of freedom - to that Knowing that you can be, do or have anything you want.

Monday, February 16, 2009

I came across this quote yesterday and got to thinking about the number of times I hear about people quitting moments before victory.  In these challenging economic times frustration can take its toll.  Please remember though, we are free to choose our attitude - always we have this freedom!  With a good strong positive attitude we can always try one more time, one more day and then again, and again...... then one day you will be surprised!  Victory will be yours!  Your world will split wide open.

Today is Presidents day and it is the middle of February, if you have the day off go out and do something fun.  Go out and play in the sunshine.  If you have to work put on you mittens and eat your lunch out side......

Friday, February 13, 2009

People wake up on Friday the 13th and think with dread that something is going to go wrong.  It really is about perspective and thoughts.  Do you ever wonder what would happen if you did not know the date.  Lets make today a super good day,  One that we can write about with gratitude and appreciation.

Wednesday, February 11, 2009

ANY LUCK?  It really is simple - just not easy...... So many of us have developed habits of looking at what is and worrying about what could be.  Shift your perspective just a little bit.  Look for all the things you have to appreciate and imagine what could be.  Hold powerful positive thoughts!!  Know that you create your reality.

Monday, February 9, 2009

Your current thought is planning a future event.  Do you realize how powerful that makes you, and how free.  All you have to do is get into the habit of living with full attention in the now and enjoying yourself.  When you are totally focused on enjoying now it is rather hard to worry.  Try it!

Friday, February 6, 2009

We really are free to choose our thoughts and the way we go through our day.   Choosing our thoughts also includes the “food” we offer our minds...... Take movies for example - Hallmark Movies always make me cry, but they always have a happy ending and no violence!   I love them.  Slum-dog Millionaire on the other hand,  was a very good movie but  a bit to violent for me - I left wanting a glass of wine!  Milk was great - I knew the history, but not know the details - I left wanting to be sure I walked my talk.  I love good kids movies because they tap into our imagination.....

We really can write our own script.  We can direct our own destiny.  Pay attention to what you pay attention to.....

Have a great weekend!

Wednesday, February 4, 2009

My only thought this morning is to be true to your self and trust!  And of course the flip side of that is to let others chose their path.

Monday, February 2, 2009

A new month - How was January for you?  Did you make decisions, set goals and commit?  I hope so!  When  you are committed you can have a sense of freedom.  You know what you want and where you are going --- You can feel good about your progress and all sorts of inspired ideas will come to you.  Powerful commitment is like the blinders to things that conspire to hold you back

KEEP IT SIMPLE!!

Friday, March 27, 2009

I am coming up with quite a list for 1st quarter and June celebrations. However, I also have come up with a few places where I am not quite where I wanted to be.  I think this weekend I will take an hour or so to be sure I am doing what I want and need to do to be where I want to be.  And of course I shall include some fun!

Wednesday, March 25, 2009

So how is it going,  Are you collecting a lot of 3x5 cards for what you want to celebrate in June?  (See blog 3/24/09)  And are you looking at ways you can simplify a bit more.  Maybe you came across some areas where you have changed your mind......maybe you have been going back and forth on something - - - don’t let it go just yet, maybe there is some fear creeping in.  I do not want you to waste your time on something you really do not want, however, I do not want you to quit because you are afraid it can’t happen now!!!

Monday, March 23, 2009

I hope you all found some renewed energy this weekend.  Looking at the weather map spring seems a long way off.  Looking at the earth and our spirit it is spring.  I am going to choose to focus on the signs of spring.  Also in this last full week of March (which, by the way will mark the end of the first quarter) I am going to take some time to look at the commitments I made in January, then I am going to look at the freedom that came with having powerful decisions to help focus my day and last but not least I am going to see how I am doing with simplifying my life.  By the end of the week I will have a good idea of where I am doing well and where I need to re-commit.  I invite you to do the same.  Remember we didn’t make resolutions, we made commitments for 2009.

Friday, March 20, 2009

SPRING - Does it get any better!  Spring starts today and the first full day is  tomorrow, a Saturday!!!  Take a brake - go outside and enjoy the simplicity of nature.  Look for signs of life returning to the gardens of your world.  If you live near a park, a forest, a lake, a river or the sea - engage your self fully - take a walk, take a camera, take a notebook, take a lunch....... Take some time to enjoy the renewed energy of the earth!!  Don’t be surprised if you find it contagious.

Wednesday, March 18, 2009

Yellow just did not work for me.  Changing was not fun but I really like the end result, so it was worth the effort.   Lesson Learned.

Monday, March 16, 2009

It was simply a beautiful weekend - I was inspired to commit to a challenge that will lead to fitness!! I am “moving” to the west coast!!  It is 3104 miles from my door to my sisters door.  I will travel by gym bike, treadmill, bike, walk and run.  So far I have gone 19 miles - I am ready to get on the  Mass Pike and start to head west.....I decided to make fitness fun!!

Friday, March 13, 2009

Two months in a row that is a bit much isn’t it!  Last month I took my advice and looked for things to be grateful for and things to appreciate - it worked.  It was a great day.  I think I will do that again.  it is a beautiful day,  and it looks like it is going to be a beautiful weekend.  Did you try the morning pages.....Today, when you are out, pick up a notebook and try it over the weekend......

Wednesday, March 11, 2009

I feel quite sure that some of you are facing challenges right now and you are thinking, I really don’t have time for this!  I have to find a new job, I have to find some new clients, I have to....... You fill in the blank!  But wait, maybe this is the perfect time to check in.  Maybe you are being offered a moment in time to change your course.  You already have stress in your life, why not take 20 - 30 minutes a day to free write and see what happens.  It can’t hurt!  In her book, The Artist Way, Julia Cameron suggests that you write first thing in the morning for 3 pages.  And I must say there is magic in the 3rd page.  I have found it best to start before the beginning of my thinking.   If I engage my brain before I write, I find that I write from my head and there is no flow.  The book first came out 15 +/- years ago and I have been doing morning pages off and on ever since.  I find that when I face a challenge I go back to morning pages.  I use one of those old school black and white composition books. (small pages - wide lines)  When  you try it let me know how it works.

Monday, March 9, 2009

Yesterday I had some sort of a 24 hour “bug” and I decided to allow it.  I stayed in bed, watched old movies and got up for lunch around 2:30.  (I went right back to my movies.)  By about 5:00 I was feeling pretty good.  During the course of the day (between movies) I was thinking about my dreams, and  the life I imagined.  The interesting thing was that I realized that many aspects were mine, right now, with a minor adjustment in my thinking and/or behavior.   Double check your list, is there something you are simply keeping at arms length.   Be sure to keep moving in the direction of your dreams.  The power is in the accumulation of little steps and sometimes one step is all we need to get there.  Each layer that you clear, each step you take, brings you closer to your vision.

Simplicity - My mind was so cluttered this morning that I totally forgot my Friday morning thoughts on simplicity.  This only goes to show that (a) there are many different sorts of clutter and (b) simplicity is not so simple!  Trying to focus a month on simplicity I have cluttered my mind...... I think if I am going to make it through the month I am going to have to add morning meditation...... Have a great weekend and if possible open the windows!

Wednesday, March 4, 2009

Have you checked out this weeks blog - The theme for March is simplicity.  I thought this fitting as we transition from winter to spring.  As you open your windows notice how fresh the house becomes as you let go of the winter air go and allow the fresh spring air to move freely.  This works for all aspects of our lives.  Let go of what has become stale and allow energy to move freely in you life.  (If you haven’t already go now and read the March 3 blog)

Monday, March 2, 2009

As the saying goes “In like a lion”.  When you are self employed you don’t really get a snow day ---- you still have to shovel the snow and you can’t safely drive anywhere, however. if it is Monday morning you are on the clock.  You can’t call in and say; “Sorry boss I can’t get in today.”  You, my friend, are in!  The good news is,  you probably love your job and you have a really cool boss.  If your boss is anything like mine, she {or he} is ok with flex time,  dress code is relaxed and she doesn’t really worry about where I work.  What she truly wants is that I am creative, thoughtful and awakened.  Always moving forward.

APRIL THOUGHTS

Wednesday, April 29, 2009

I don’t think it would do to have an entire month dedicated to creativity and then not mention one of my favorite books: The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron. Summer is coming - get yourself a copy and explore some of the possibilities open to you when you peruse a creative life.

"In order to have a real relationship with our creativity, we must take the time and care to cultivate it."
>>>> Julia Cameron

Monday, April 27, 2009

We are getting toward the end of April and I want to be sure that you have made creativity a regular part of your life. Note in the above quote that breaking rules, making mistakes and having fun are all part of the process. Remember when you were a kid and you got your first coloring book. You took the red crayon and made big bold lines across the page - it was wonderful! You then learned to color in the lines........ Now, If you haven’t already disregard the lines or better yet, take out a blank sheet of paper! What comes up may be a picture or a poem or an idea! Have fun with it! You just might come up with an idea that will change the way you do business! Now that’s exciting!

Friday, April 24, 2009

I spent some of earth day watching specials and reading about what people were suggesting. What I came with was that it is just like anything else we want, and it’s simple. A few small steps taken every day will get us to our goal. Do you realize that if you do something for 30 minutes every day, that is equal to over 22 - 8 hour days a year.....that is one business month a year. Doable isn’t it?

Wednesday, April 22, 2009

EARTH DAY 2009

When you look at it from this perspective you see the beauty! Focus on how magnificent our planet is and see us as a simple community working together with common goals. Is there any one among us with a primary goal other than PEACE - LOVE - JOY for their family? I think not.

Have a look at NASA’s view of our home planet:
http://www.nasa.gov/topics/earth/earthday/earthday_gallery.html

EARTH DAY 2009 - Everyone is suggesting we go green - recycle - reuse - renew - replant.... ALL great ideas.... But how about rethink - rethink the way we relate to our fellow travelers. What is good for my family and your family is good for all humanity.

RETHINK
PEACE - LOVE - JOY
EARTH DAY 2009

Monday, April 20, 2009

Today is Boston Marathon Day - 26,385 runners and a good size field of physically challenged athletes - and I see that Rick and Dick Hoyt are in the race today. This will be their 1000th event!! They do inspire!! See my blog June 8, 2008 if you aren’t familiar with this incredible team!! For you runners out there it is only 46ºF - with a good headwind, it’s making for a chilly run!! The key is preparation and focus........

Friday, April 17, 2009

I am sure you have noticed the brief message at the bottom of my blog each week:

If you really want something a way can be found.
Be still and the way will come to you.

Today’s quote from Abraham-Hicks explains it perfectly!!

“That's why so many of us teach meditation. Because when you stop thought, you stop resistant thought. When you stop resistant thought, then you let it in. That's why we teach appreciation, because when you're in appreciation, you are not in the mode of resistance, and you are letting it in.”
Excerpted from the workshop in North Los Angeles, CA on Monday, August 13th, 2001
YOU MUST ALLOW CREATIVITY!

Wednesday, April 15, 2009

Today is probably the one day you should not be to creative - at least where your taxes are concerned. I don’t think the tax man likes that. It is also a day to be grateful if you have to pay a lot --- that only means that you have had a lot of income!! It really is about perspective. And think about all the good things our taxes pay for......Roads - Parks - Education - Libraries - Fire Departments - - to name but a few. I, for one would distribute the money a bit differently, However, I see it all from my perspective. I am sure we would all do it better........All things considered we are very fortunate.

Monday, April 13, 2009

Just checking in this morning. Did you try doing something physically creative? I am working on an old fashion “rag rug” and it does work. I have gotten several ideas as I focus on the stitches. I also think about where I want the rug to go and ideas of how to get there come. It is worth a try.

Friday, April 10, 2009

Today is a beautiful day. In the news letter that you will be getting on Monday I talk a little about doing something physically creative as a way in.... Try this it might be fun. Please let me know your results.

Wednesday, April 8, 2009

Have you found it difficult to focus on the vision and exclude all other thoughts. that’s ok ---- keep trying. Change sometimes takes several tries. Don’t give up!!

Monday, April 6, 2009

I hope you made a bunch of mistakes this weekend and kept the ones that were good. We all know the challenges we are facing both individually and collectively so we really do not need to discuss them. Here is a challenge for you for this week: turn off the news, don’t talk or even think about challenges, simply focus your energy on what you want and why you want it and see what creative solutions come to mind. Take action from this new perspective. You might have a mistake or two, but I bet you will have a great week.

Friday, April 3, 2009

April showers bring May flowers. Think of the rain as the recession we have been going through, and the flowers as the creative spirit coming alive in all of us to bring forth abundance. The crocuses and daffodils are already out. To leave the recession behind, we need to be creative and try new things...... This weekend go for a walk in the woods and think about all the new things you could try. Be creative, make mistakes and have fun with this. "Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep." Scott Adams. Allow your life to become a work of art, with you the artist.

"If you obey all the rules, you miss all the fun."

MAY THOUGHTS

Friday, May 29, 2009

Last weekend of May - take a double look at your life and business from the perspective of integrity!  Are you being who you really are?

Wednesday, May 27, 2009

I started my list yesterday - (see 5/26 blog for details) and I am pretty much on track with two exceptions:

  1.     Social networking

  2.     Diet and exercise

And I did put a weekend away into my June calendar.  A bit more work on my list today and I should be set to take the final run to mid-year.

Monday, May 25, 2009

Well  - I did get wet yesterday, however it was not at the beach or on a river kayaking ---- We did need the rain!!  And I did have a lovely day!!  I took the day to listen!!  I hope you enjoy your Memorial Day!  I intend to enjoy mine.

Friday, May 22, 2009

Memorial Day Weekend

First take a moment to remember the ones you have loved who have passed and those who have passed in service to their country.

Then take 5 minutes to watch the short movie below!

http://www.attractworldpeace.com

And then go celebrate the official start to summer fun!  Have a party with friends - get wet outside!  Play!

Wednesday, May 20, 2009

If you haven’t already go read yesterdays blog entry:

REFLECTIONS OF INTEGRITY

Are you content with your life?  Do you want content?  It does sound good some days doesn’t it.  Is your spirit ready for growth?  Is it time now?  I do think so!!  And it all starts inside.

Monday, May 18, 2009

Are you on track with your goals?  I found a place or two where I need to refocus my energy, a few where I’m doing really well and one where I’m going to have to re-work my plan a bit.  All things considered I am rather happy with this year.  I hope you are too!  If you need a bit of assistance or want to share a victory, send me an e-mail at:

jochristie18@mac.com

Friday, May 15, 2009

Wednesday - what happened?  I am guessing that I got  so involved with finishing the newsletter that this just slipped by....... Of course this would happen when I am focusing my attention on integrity!  I goofed - I’m sorry!  I would like to say it won’t happen again but you know, it just might.

What I had on my mind this morning, before I found Wednesday missing, was the fact that we are half way through the second quarter.  I was thinking that I would take a little time in the next few days to see if I am on track with the goals that set in the beginning of the year.  I am sure some adjustments are called for, maybe some re-commitment, some additions and some deletions.

Have a great weekend and don’t forget to do something fun

Monday, May 11, 2009

Here’s hoping every one is employee of the month!  Give your self a gift card to Amazon and pick up good book!  A movie pass would be good too.  What can you do to make this week productive and fun......

Friday, May 8, 2009

One of the things about being self employed is that there is no one telling you what time to be at work and no one telling you when quitting time is!  In my experience people tend to work more when they are self employed, especially when the office is in the home.  Boundaries can become blurred, and of course, you want to please to boss.  This weekend, find a quiet hour and be really honest with yourself!  Could you work more efficiently and thus have more time for family and fun?  Is it time to hire an assistant?  Are your business working so you don’t  have to.  Give yourself a spring review.  Make sure you are working smart!  You can be totally honest with yourself because you are most likely not going to fire you.  Would you put yourself on report if you were not you or would you be employee of the month?

Have a wonderful weekend!

Wednesday, May 6, 2009

Are we having fun yet?  An important thing to remember is that this is personal.  Most of the time, if you lie to yourself, you are the only one who knows.  However, when you lie to yourself, you know!  If you can’t be honest with yourself, who can you be honest with?  If you can’t trust yourself, can you trust any one?  Something to think about.......

Monday, May 4, 2009

So how did it go?  i am sure you can see this is going to be a fun challenge!   Integrity is really the key to any great accomplishment.  We all know that cookies do have calories even when they are broken!!  This week think about the areas of your life where you are focusing right now - are you being your best?  really now, are you?

in·teg·ri·ty

Friday, May 1, 2009

May’s theme is integrity!  We have all heard of little white lies,  and I think we all agree that they are ok sometimes.    I also think the line is not fixed and firm, one person’s little white lie is another lie...... This is where integrity comes in.  There is no such thing as a little white lie to yourself, you Know!  Integrity is really cool, in your heart of hearts you always Know.  This weekend pay attention to your self and your personal integrity. Simply notice! Don’t judge or justify just notice. Really look at all 8 areas of your life. I am not just talking about relationships, fitness and work! I am talking about your life!  Are you thinking and being creative? Are you loving your home?  Are you doing what needs to be done to get where you want to be?  Are you reaching out?  Are you allowing in? Are you bringing your own bags to the supermarket?  Are you having fun?

Have a fun weekend and see where you travel to!

JUNE THOUGHTS

Monday, June 29, 2009

I hope your had a good weekend and that you received the link to the workbook.  If you are not already on the newsletter list you can join and receive the workbook as my free gift.  My version of the welcome wagon!!

I have been busy with my half year report!  I am right on track with some goals and a bit behind with others.....I will have my report ready for Tuesday so I can jump right into the second half on July first.  A very good thing about having a coach when you are self employed is that your coach will ask, when you meet, if your report is ready and she’ll want a report on your focus for third quarter.  I know mine will, I asked her to, and she will hold me accountable!

Friday, June 26, 2009

Well -- Yesterday it happened --- The sun came out in the northeast!!  I know that I say and believe that we are responsible for our own attitude, but the sun appearing after such a long period of rain --- well, sometimes an external force can help a bit!  I intend to hold on the the feeling!

The last weekend of June!  Don’t forget to have you 1st half report on your desk by Tuesday.  And how are you going to celebrate all your victories?  Are you going to bump up your goals for the second half....  If you receive my news letter you will be receiving my workbook as a free gift over the weekend.  You might find it a helpful tool for moving into the 2nd half of the year.

Have a great weekend!

One of the things that I believe is that you attract what you think about.  Not always a conscious thought and not always a “wanting”!  I originally started this morning thought with a comment on the weather, surely I do not want more rain.  Keep your thoughts and energy focused on what you do want and what is working well in your life and business! Make a list each day of all the positive aspects of your day and then list at least five things you have to be grateful for. Watch the shift.

The last day of spring could not have been better - lunch on a patio overlooking Cape Cod Bay, a bike ride, the sun and dinner with a wonderful group of friends. Though it is here in name only at this point, I do have hope for the summer.

As we near the end of the first half, perhaps this would be a good time to have a board meeting - evaluate where you are on track and where you are ahead of yourself - I shall plan mine for Thursday!!

Friday, June 19, 2009

I was reminded that Sunday is the first day of summer so I have decided to leave town at the end of the work day an go to the beach for the weekend....Go forth and celebrate Summer.

Wednesday, June 17, 2009

In my blog yesterday I challenged everyone to turn off the TV for the last two weeks of June --- How rash of me!  I am going to alter that a bit --- Be mindful of the TV that you watch for the rest of June.  Maybe set yourself a limit.... And for sure get outside more!!

Monday, June 15, 2009

Just for fun, I decided to create a board of directors.  If I pay attention to them I will have my business in shape in no time.  I googled an image of each, so when I have a meeting of the board I can see my members...... No reason we can’t make our business life fun.  You might find looking at things from a different perspective inspiring!

Friday, June 12, 2009

Well now!  I just noticed a pattern - On Fridays I often suggest a project for the weekend, even though I know most of my readers are self employed and may work differently from a “company person”.  I do!  So, next time you have a day off or some free thinking time, think about people or events that have inspired you in the past.  Write them in you “brain book” or on 3x5 cards and when you are feeling pressured mentally refer back to your list.  I think you will find that you look at things from a new perspective.  If you are so inclined take it a step further and create a board of directors.  This way you will always have a team to work with.

Wednesday, June 10, 2009

Last night I tried to write my morning thoughts because I knew this morning I would be on a tight time crunch....... Now, what did I say about forcing inspiration!  Not one word came, not one!  I really ought to listen to myself once in a while!  Knowing what to do and doing it, really are two totally different things.  I don’t know about you, but sometimes when I get really busy I revert to my old ways of thinking and being.  When I most need the assistance I block it out.  Some things for me to think about!

Monday, June 8, 2009

I think that one of the keys to inspiration is to take the  time to listen.  Pay attention to what is going on in your now and keep your mind focused on where you really want to be.  inspiration does not require force, it requires trust and faith.

Friday, June 5, 2009

The other night I was watching Wayne Dyer’s Excuses Begone! on Public television.  Very interesting!  Check your local listings....... We do have choices about the way we live.  Knowing this is the first step, BELIEVING it in a real way is sometimes a bit challenging.  The thoughts you have thought and the choices you have made have brought you to where you are. Don’t misunderstand, where you are might be great and most likely it is, however, if there is an area that is not quite working out the way you had hoped - NOW you can change your thoughts and make new choices.  Even when your life is going well, you can get that out of control feeling or become overwhelmed, sometimes, the best place to begin is with your attitude.

Wednesday, June 3, 2009

On three different occasions in the last week the topic came around to fleeting thoughts or inspirations.  My coach carries a “brain book”, a pretty little notebook that she can keep in her pocket, 3x5 cards work for the shopping list, a notebook with larger pages if you’re a writer, a pad on the bed side table for dreams, you get the idea. I think we have all have an abundance of fleeting thoughts that we simply let go.  What if we were to write them down and bring them together every day or so.  We just might be collecting the foundation of a truly inspired life!!

Monday, June 1, 2009

I love June - the summer is just beginning, the world around is fresh and green, all the summer food is abundant, people are out and about more, and the pace is just a bit slower.  We have time to think!  We have time to look at where we are going and make sure we are on the right path.

Our word for the month of June is:

JULY THOUGHTS

Friday, July 31, 2009

Rather delightful to be technologically deprived for a couple of days!  Also nice to be on the water!  Lots of reading, thinking and hopefully a few good photos.  Have a great weekend.  One last word on Abundance ---- Focus, really focus on what you want.

Wednesday, July 29, 2009

I am off to New Hampshire for a couple of days of Kayaking this morning - Mini Vacation!  My boat will finally get wet with water other than rain.  I think I shall bring my 3x5 card box with me to play around a bit, and perhaps a good book or two.  Where I am going there is no internet connection and no TV.

Monday, July 27, 2009

My project got side tracked by my need to get the newsletter out in a somewhat timely way. It made it’s way to your in box very early this morning.  Hope you enjoy it.

Friday, July 24, 2009

Wednesday’s thought got me looking at my own piles and the accumulation of paper that needed to be filed or tossed!  My active files got thinned and my archive files were cut in half and my piles got tossed or filed (there was room now).  It was great fun and very satisfying to cart two very large trash bags to the road on Thursday morning.

Then last night I started a list of all the things I have thought about doing --- books to write, projects (work and personal), programs, e-books, vacations......the list goes on!!  Tonight I shall continue the list - look at my 3x5 file really get to know where I am then I am going to decide what I love to think and talk about doing,  what is a great idea for someone else to do and what I am really going to go for.  I am going to laser focus the next 5 and 10 years.... this is going to be FUN!!

Wednesday, July 22, 2009

Abundance is a funny thing!  You do have to be careful about what you focus on.  If you have piles on you desk and focus on the piles, you will end up with more.  Focus on solutions - You may end up with more than you need but that’s ok, pick a good one and run with it.

Monday, July 20, 2009

I was thinking about abundance this week.  It really is a state of mind and your state of mind either attracts or resists it.  If you know you have everything you need to do what ever you want, the way becomes clear.  Meditate in the morning, before the day takes control, and go out and follow your passion.  Be the person you are meant to be.  Remember when you change your world you change the world.

Friday, July 17, 2009

This week got away from me a bit!  I am sure that happens to everyone from time to time.  For me this happens in the summer,  the time of the year for serious fun.  Here in New England the real estate market is picking up some.  This is good news for all my friends in the business.  One Realtor® I spoke with last night thinks we are going to have an aggressive fall.  Now that is exciting news!!  Be sure to keep contact with all your clients - past, present and future.

"Our lives improve only when we take chances - and the first and most difficult risk we can take is to be honest with ourselves." -- Walter Anderson

So, how’s it going?  As a general rule I get one of two answers.  Either: Everything is great (fake it till you make it)!  or This recession is killing my business (doom and gloom)!

Neither really serves us, though I must say that the first is better than the second, if you believe in what your are doing.  If your little voice is saying “sure - like that’s true” you are no better off.  What you tell yourself and what you believe is far more important than what you say.  If the truth is that your business is in trouble you might have to alter your behavior.  Don’t just jump from one action to another!  Think about your part in how you got there and then think about where you really want to be.  Focus your energy on the latter and move forward with inspired action.

Friday, July 10, 2009

Project a success!  Reward delightful!  Yesterday as I was driving back to Boston I decided to take a left turn and have lunch on the beach at Hampton Beach, NH.  It just doesn’t get any better.  Today I have a very full schedule, this is a good thing.  Have a really good weekend and be sure to focus on what you want!

Wednesday, July 8, 2009

It is very early Wednesday morning and I am off to Maine to finish a very big personal project - a lot of work but then dinner with friends.  A built in reward system.  One of the joys of being self employed.  Plan your rewards as you plan your projects.

Monday, July 6, 2009

We had an abundance of sun in the northeast!!  Today is the third day in a row.  Now it is summer!!  It is time to get serious about work and very serious about play!!  Enjoy!!

Friday, July 3, 2009

Do something this weekend to celebrate your abundance of freedoms and independence.

Wednesday, July 1, 2009

ABUNDANCE

Have you ever heard the expression: Be careful what you think about (or ask for) you just might get it?  I feel quite sure you can all think of examples of this “working” in your lives.  I know I can, and today I can laugh about it!

Where do you put your attention?  There is no question that right now we are facing a challenge but that doesn’t mean we have to focus all our attention on the part of the glass that is half empty!  Lets look at things from a slightly different perspective - Let’s look at the glass as half full on it’s way to overflowing.   Let’s reconnect with our strength, power and abundance!!

I THINK WE ARE GOING TO HAVE SOME FUN WITH THIS!

Lets meet and get to know each other!

AUGUST THOUGHTS

Monday, August 31, 2009

I spent a lot of time watching the services for Ted Kennedy this weekend.  His life is an inspiration..... Here was a man with challenges that would crush many of us and he was not without his faults, however, he stood up, accepted what came his way and moved to service we have all benefitted from.  You may not always agree with his position but you have to admire his ability to negotiate, his focus and the passion that allowed him to stay the course.  We will miss you Ted!  AND we will continue to learn from your legacy.....

Friday, August 28, 2009

Last Wednesday I wrote morning thoughts before I checked the morning news.......

We in Massachusetts both morn the loss and celebrate the life of Ted Kennedy...... He has been our senator since he was elected when his brother John became President, 47 years of service to our state and country.  A life of service and compassion - He is an inspiration!

Wednesday, August 26, 2009

Do you recall back in January I suggested you create two teams, first a team of advisors.  They can be real and in person like a tax accountant, a real estate advisor, a medical advocate,  a lawyer, a coach, or a spiritual advisor.......and then a “Board Of Directors”.  These people can be alive or from history, you can know them personally or not......The end of August or start of September is a good time to have a Board of Directors meeting.  You will want to finish 2009 with a bang and start strategic planning for 2010.

Monday, August 24, 2009

Are you ready for September?  Everyone gets back to work in September......

Friday, August 21, 2009

So how did you do, did you find some clues?  Maybe some little thing you can incorporate into you business.  Do you think it is possible that the people who do really well know their Ideal client.  Check out my blog for August 18.

Wednesday, August 19, 2009

This morning I was having a second look at this weeks quote and thinking about how many people play someone else's game.  You see someone in your field who is doing very well and you try to do exactly what they do.  To a certain extent this is a good idea, no need to re-invent the wheel!  However,  if you are always uncomfortable you will burn out!!  Watch them for clues to success and incorporate the clues into your practice.   Find 2 or 3 people in your field who are really successful, look for the clues and try them.  We will talk more on Friday.

Monday, August 17, 2009

Had a wonderful day at the beach yesterday!  Makes getting back to work this morning ever so easy.  Interesting isn’t it, how taking care of yourself, doing something you love is so very restorative.  It is so easy!!  What do you do to restore your spirt?  When was the last time you took the time.  It doesn’t have to be a whole day..... Sometimes an hour or two away from the routine can be helpful.  Something as simple as going out for an ice cream cone or a walk around the block can change your perspective enough to change your day.  Make today a great one

“Your life is right now! It's not later! It's not in that time of retirement. It's not when the lover gets here. It's not when you've moved into the new house. It's not when you get the better job. Your life is right now. It will always be right now. You might as well decide to start enjoying your life right now, because it's not ever going to get better than right now--until it gets better right now!”

Have a great weekend!!

“Be the change you want to see in the world.”  Gandhi

If you want the recession over in your world you must “BE” as if it were.  Check your business plan and practices, make sure they are appropriate for a busy business day!

Monday, August 10, 2009

I hope you all had a great weekend!  I received a fair amount of resistance on my statement that the recession was over, in my world --- But then yesterday afternoon I watched Excuses Begone, the Wayne Dyer program on PBS.  If you have not seen it check your local schedule or, if you don’t have TV, Go and buy the book........

Friday, August 7, 2009

I have decided that in my world the recession is over!  Not unlike that marathon I frequently speak of, our resources are spent and we are at the edge of our limit.......Rest a bit and Regroup!  Declare the recession over in your world!  Go to work today knowing that all is well and the best is yet to comes.  And do something fun this weekend!

Wednesday, August 5, 2009

We all get involved in the everyday routines of life.....We also all have events that occur that tend to take us away form our path.....or knock us off!  So, in the midst of every day and extraordinary events, can we really live life as a DARING ADVENTURE?  Can we dare not?  Think of your life’s adventure as journey not unlike a flight from here to there...... You look out the window, watch a movie, read a book, have a meal, talk to a new friend..... you enjoy the flight!  Then, you hit a storm and you are thrown off course, if you do nothing to correct your course you will end up some where else, lost without a sense of place or purpose.  As a general rule once the crisis has passed you correct your course and continue on.  Knowing what your life is about helps you stay on course!

Monday, August 3, 2009

I selected ADVENTURE for August because this is a very popular vacation month and it is also the time for people to go to school - some returning - some going to a new school and some for the very first time.

NOW - think about the weeks just before the vacation or school starting.  You had to pack a lot into that time, a lot of work or a lot of play, you had to plan the adventure very carefully and secure your supplies.  You never function at a higher level than this!  When the morning came, you woke up with excitement and dashed into the day.  Life was special.

Life. my friends is special every day!   Live it as a Daring Adventure.  Carefully plan for every day, have your supplies ready the night before and wake up with excitement and dash into the day.

MORNING THOUGHTS

Wednesday, September 30, 2009

About that fall cleaning --- Met with my coach last night and she pointed out that she said the fall cleaning needed to be done in October not by October 1 --- the pressure is off!  I can put it off!  But then there is that Korean Proverb “Put off for one day, and ten days will pass”.  I think I will take care of my office today so I am ready for the 4th quarter, put other areas into my calendar and leave the wardrobe shift till I get back from my vacation at the end of October.

Monday, September 28, 2009

I hope you had a great and thoughtful weekend!!  Do you have a clear vision of how you want your life to be, (filled with zest and joy I hope)?  What changes do you have to make?  I believe it was Einstein who defined insanity as doing the same things over and over and expecting different results.  Shake things up a bit.  How do you have to change to fit into your new picture.  A great toast for 12/31/2009 would be “I DID IT!”

Friday, September 25, 2009

It is a beautiful cool autumn day here in the north east.  Take a moment to think about things the way you want them to be.  Think about how you could change.  Most of the time it only takes a little shift...... focus all weekend on what you want!!

Wednesday, September 23, 2009

One of the really great things about 90 days to finishing the year on your terms is that you don’t need to know every detail before you begin.  When you go through the workbook you will know where you need to put some extra energy.  90 days will simply jump start you for 2010 and beyond.  It will help you build powerful habits.  You will confront challenges and explore solutions.  It has been a tough year or so for many and every one deserves success on your terms........

Monday, September 21, 2009

I am listening to Wayne Dyer talking about his latest book, Excuses Begone.  If you haven’t experienced this work yet, I would suggest you find a way today.  My 90 days start today.  I challenge you to make the decision to finish this year on YOUR TERMS!  No Excuses!!  You have 12 days to set up your 90 days.  I have started early because I have a vacation in the middle and of course “the holidays”!!  I need 102 days for my 90 days.......

Friday, September 18, 2009

In my spare time over the last few days I have been creating a mind map.  I have been having great fun with it!  Challenges do not have to be work, in fact they are better if they are fun.  You are more likely to stay with them.  105 days left!  I am going to start my “90” days on Monday 9/21.

that will give me 102 days to do a 90 day challenge...... This is good for I have a week in California, Thanksgiving and Christmas.  Take some time this weekend and think about how you want to finish 2009 - I am thinking finish strong!!  I hope you will join me.  If you want some help getting started, remember I do offer complimentary coaching consultations:

And don’t forget my WORKBOOK,  Oprah’s O Dream Board, a pack of 3x5 cards or a sheet of paper and pen to start a list or mind map.  It doesn’t matter how you start ---- If you want to finish strong you simply must start!

Wednesday, September 16, 2009

This morning when I woke up I thought it was way to early to get up ---- But no, the sun is simply shifting its position in the sky, autumn is coming.  As it got lighter I noticed the tree outside my window was turning yellow, autumn is coming.  107 days left in 2009.  If  you are going to do a 90 day challenge you will have to get started soon!!  As we are leaving this recession we are all focusing on our business and our financial situations - We have all been hit.  Remember though, it’s not just about the money.  It’s about relationships, health, fitness, creativity, spirituality, growth and your environment.  90 days!!!  100%  Be responsible for your energy!.....  Live with Zest!!

Monday, September 14, 2009

109 days left in 2009 - A perfect time for a 90 day challenge!  You get a bit of planning time and a few extra days so you can enjoy the holidays that your celebrate!  Get a copy of my

WORKBOOK, work your way through it, decide to finish 2009 with power and passion and commit yourself 100%!!  Take back your exciting positive attitude...... live with Zest!!

Friday, September 11, 2009

Take a moment today to ponder and remember.  There are certain days in our collective history that will never be forgotten --- We will for all time remember where we were and what we were doing when we got the news.  A sad thing is that today, as I write, only one event worthy of celebration comes to mind - the Moon Landing! Is celebration  a more personal event?  Do we find it easier to share sorrow than joy?  Something to think about.

Wednesday, September 9, 2009

Having had a wonderful weekend hiking, kayaking, and enjoying delightful dinners with good friends I am ready to get back to work and what better day than 9-9-09 ---- A day of good luck and fortune!  Where are you going to focus your energy for the rest of the year.  Decide, commit & focus with passion.  Live with ZEST!

Just for the record I got to enjoy a wonderful birthday yesterday!!

Wednesday, September 2, 2009

Tomorrow morning I am going north to the land of limited internet connection.  (I can sit outside the local library, However..........)  I will be returning  to work on Wednesday!  I hope you will do something fun on this last weekend of summer.  If you are in the mood to plan or dream, You can go to yesterdays blog and get a copy of my workbook or if you tend to be more right brained - Oprah has created O Dream Board that you can download.  If you are more a hands on sort of a person, get a piece of poster board and a pile of old magazines......I have been having a lot of fun with my copy of O Dream Board

Have a great holiday weekend!!!

Tuesday, September 1, 2009

HAPPY SEPTEMBER ---

LIVE WITH ZEST.........

Please enjoy the blog today!!

MORNING THOUGHTS

Friday, October 30, 2009

It was raining so I never did make it to the bike ride on Wednesday - However, yesterday and today were great..... I get all these wonderful ideas when I am riding..... Part of my 90 day challenge is to really crank up my fitness by eating and exercising in a way that is conducive to great health and fitness.  As I am also trying to learn to be a good social networker I am going to commit to twittering my way across the country.   San Francisco is 3,120+/- miles and as of today I have gone 180.   So far it is mostly biking ---- but lest it get boring I will be swimming, running, X-country skiing.......whatever.....moving in a forward direction!!

Wednesday, October 28, 2009

Time does seem to be flying by..... 64 days to go.  And this morning I got nothing!!  I have been sitting here trying to be clever or at least a bit thoughtful, but I got nothing........ Nothing...... I think I will go have breakfast and hope it is not raining so I can go on my bike ride!!  Have a fun day!!

Monday, October 26, 2009

Vacations are good!  If you haven’t taken one in a while I would strongly suggest you put one into your plans.  I find that I have come home with  a shifted perspective and a creative mindset.  I am totally ready to finish off 2009 on target with high energy!!  66 days left in my 90 day challenge........

Wednesday, October 14, 2009

Tomorrow I leave for my vacation.  I will be back here on the 23rd.  Until then work hard, live well and have some fun.

Monday, October 12, 2009

1492....... Now, that was a risk and  a discovery!

Friday, October 9, 2009

Columbus Day weekend......This is the weekend in the north east when people traditionally close up summer cottages just before the heavy freeze comes in.  The leaves are approaching peak and the snow birds are heading south.  Do something fun this weekend to enjoy the outside and this transitional time of the year.

"The only place where your dream becomes impossible is in your own thinking."                           >>>Robert H. Schuller

Action is a great restorer and builder of confidence.  Inaction is not only the result, but the cause, of fear.  Perhaps the action you take will be successful; perhaps different action or adjustments will have to follow.  But any action is better than no action at all.

>>>Norman Vincent Peale

I am guessing this all means it is up to you.  Think about what you think and pay attention to what you do....... Make any adjustments that seem necessary and start today to live the life you desire. Just start!

Monday, October 5, 2009

There is nothing really magical about 90 days!  A time frame simply brings us to focus and that does help a lot of people.  What is really  magical is creating a vision, believing in that possibility and then consistently monitoring your feelings and your actions.  If you are feeling good and your actions are congruent with your vision you can’t miss.  You might not always know what to do next, however, if you believe in your vision the way will become clear!!  Let it be FUN!

Friday, October 2, 2009

I am having fun!!  When you take 102 days to do a 90 day challenge there is time to have fun...... Actually when you take 90 days to do a 90 day challenge there is time for fun..... Part of the challenge is to focus, really focus so that if you want to bring your business in line, lose a few pounds and spend better time with the people you love, you can do this and have fun with it all..... I would love to help you get started.

ARE YOU HAVING FUN YET?

MORNING THOUGHTS

Monday, November 30, 2009

We are having such strange weather here in the east this year that I decided to take both my skis and my bike on my trip north for Thanksgiving.......one morning it was nice enough to bike, however, by the time we were ready the cold clouds had rolled in!  Then on Friday night there was snow, However it was that very wet snow with high wind, the sort that leaves you without power!  One does appreciate a hooded sweatshirt, extra blankets and a special camp stove that can be used inside to make a hot cup of coffee.  When power is restored one appreciates the heating system, running water and lights.  And I can assure you a lot of other things......Before we leave November be sure you have your 101 gratitude list.  And check your e-mail today for a special edition of my newsletter.

Monday, November 23, 2009

I go north today to spend Thanksgiving in Vermont, with some long time friends.  I know many will be traveling this week.  Be safe and take a moment or two for gratitude.

Friday, November 20, 2009

One of the simple joys of the holiday season is the making of cranberry sauce and the baking of shortbread.....Mostly I make them to give as gifts.   The shortbread is especially enjoyable as I mix it with my hands, all the while being grateful to my grandmother for introducing it to us and grateful to my mother who sat with my grandmother and figured out the recipe.  Over the years I have tweaked it a bit but it will always be grandma Christie’s shortbread written out on a faded, buttery 3x5 card in mother’s hand.  A true family tradition.  Always and forever I shall be grateful for the simple joys and family traditions.

Wednesday, November 18, 2009

I am grateful to my coach for putting a link to my November news letter on her website: Nourish Your Life.  How are you doing on your 101 list?  I am well over 50..... I have been thinking of things to be grateful for when the list is not around..... the challenge then becomes getting it to the list.

Monday, November 16, 2009

Did you read November’s newsletter yet.  Have you started you 101 list of things in your life to be grateful for..... I am up to 28. The first few were easy, then they got challenging and then they got real!! WOW!!

Friday, November 13, 2009

So what do you believe about Friday the 13th.  Know that what you believe is what you will see.......

Wednesday, November 11, 2009

Today is Veterans Day in the US.  I look to the day when their job is done, when there is no need for armies and we can celebrate a true International Peace Day!!   I look to Peace in my time!!

Monday, November 9, 2009

Have you ever noticed the difference in your thinking as you watch the sun rise and the sun set..... My sun rise thinking is far more creative.  I am much more likely to think things that I have never thought.

Friday, November 6, 2009

How are you doing, counting your blessings?  It is a shift,  and it might take a while to get into the new habit.  If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.  Now that is an old expression worthy of keeping!

Wednesday, November 4, 2009

All my other joints appreciated the appreciation, they let me know in their own way!  Gratitude, appreciation or a simple thank you can go a long way!  So can a compliment!  Yesterday I was at the vegetable market and a woman complimented my vest.  When I looked up to say thank you I do believe we were both a tad more joyful.

“If the only prayer you say in your life is

‘thank you,' it would be enough.”

~ Meister Eckhart

In the US we celebrate Thanksgiving In November so I thought it would be a good Idea to focus on gratitude and appreciation this month.  In keeping with this focus I came across the above Chinese Proverb to inspire me!  I Have a funky knee and sometimes it really hurts! However, this knee can climb mountains, walk beaches, ride bikes and all sorts of other activities while carrying a bit more weight than intended, however every once in a while I do something while walking and that’s it, it hurts like crazy.  You guessed it, when it hurts it gets a lot of attention!  To add insult to injury, in my left arm alone I have 15 + joints that work tirelessly and painlessly  24/7 with out much thought.  I think it is time to start appreciating the knee when it is good and to celebrate the 60 to 80 other joints that serve so well!!

Time for a rampage of appreciation!!

I am spending the end of the year in Maine taking care of a couple of cats and taking some time to finish up my end of the year planning.  It is rather fun!!  Hope you all have a Happy New Year!!

I am off today on my journey north.  I did most of the car packing last night.  I do love the 4 hour journey - lots of time to listen to CD’s and think.  Traffic is never a problem and the view is usually quite good....

For those of you lucky enough to live on the east coast between Virginia and Boston I hope you took some time to enjoy the beauty and quiet of the storm before you began the fun job of digging out.  Maybe you even had some energy leftover to play a while!   I sure did.  Then I watched Julie & Julia.

Some days just don’t get any better!

It does make you stop and think about just

how you spend your days.  Granted we can’t play in the snow and watch movies every day, nor would we want.  However if our life is balanced and we are doing work we love moving in the direction of our dreams it just might feel that good......

I am sure you notice that the front page is a bit different --- Over the next couple of weeks I shall making adjustments to many of  the pages on the site......This seems to be the best way to upgrade things and have the least interruption to the business.  I want a fresh look for 2010 and beyond.

What would make it fun, prosperous, exciting, joyful, fresh, romantic, safe, secure, peaceful, adventuresome, alive, ............., ..............?

Be still and allow some answers to come then to quote that famous star ship captain: “Make it so!”  What changes are you going to want to make?  What really good things do you want to keep?

As you look back over the past year and decade and as you plan for the next year and decade, ask the question: “What would make it interesting?”  And then just allow some answers to come.

"In the midst of movement and chaos, keep stillness inside of you."

Deepak Chopra

So often we get overly stressed this time of the year.  Each day before you start thinking allow your mind to totally empty so that you can begin the new day fresh.  A few tips: 1- Each evening before you end your day write down what you must do.  2- Know your morning time table so you can set your alarm 15 minutes early!  3- Through out the day, if you start to feel stressed, stop for a moment and breathe.......

ENJOY THE SEASON!!

I am wondering how you are doing with your plans for 2010!  Have you selected a theme word for your year.  I thought about integrity, dignity and respect but then I decided on JOY for my personal word!

I am going to have fun incorporating JOY into my 2010 business plan.  You will have to wait for the January news letter to learn the word that I hold for the world!  Have a great week!!

I know that WW II ended in 1945 and I also know that the different fronts ended at different times....... I know that the war in Europe started in 1939 and the United States entered in 1941 with the bombing of Pearl Harbor, 68 years ago today ---- “The war to end all wars!!”

I wonder if we as humans will ever reach a time when we all respect ourselves and each other enough to allow peace.  I guess we could each begin by celebrating peace in our own lives....... “Let there be peace and let it begin with me.”

It’s Friday - let’s celebrate.  It’s a beautiful day - let’s celebrate.  I had a coach once who asked me, at the beginning of the session, what I had to celebrate?  In the beginning I was hard pressed to come up with anything........ As soon as I let go of the resistance I got to rather like the idea......  Now my coach and I send each other an e-mail at the end of each day with something to celebrate for that day......what a great habit.  Some days I get to pick and choose from things to celebrate and some days I celebrate the end of the day and the opportunity to go to bed.  Always I celebrate.  Get a buddy or e-mail me if you like - but do celebrate, it feels so good!!

This morning at 4:06 I woke up with the light of the full moon lighting up my room.  And My cat was sitting on the window sill watching all the world...... As luck would have it we will be having a 2nd full moon on December 31, New Year’s Eve.  This second moon is called a blue moon and comes around once every 2.7 years because the Moon’s cycle is shorter than our calendar cycle by about 11 days.   Now you know where the expression  “Once in a blue moon” comes from.

If you enjoy celebrating the change of year or decade (as is the case this year) at sunset or sunrise here is a great site:
