MORNING THOUGHTS

IMAGINE

Friday, January 29, 2010

The last weekend in January!  Here in New England our January thaw is over and we are back in the deep cold with wind......

Even though we are going to shift gears a bit on Monday I am sure you will  be adding new cards to you pile all the time.  Where attention goes energy flows.

Wednesday, January 27, 2010

Take a quick go through your cards and toss any that are some one else’s dream for you and replace each one with something from deep within you!

"Reach high, for stars lie hidden in your soul.

Dream deep, for every dream precedes the goal."

Pamela Vaull Star

Thanks Janet!

Monday, January 25, 2010

This is the last week of January.  Now this is not to suggest that you will stop using your imagination next Sunday, No No No!! This is the time to really go wild.  Think about this year, ten years form now and 20 or 30 or 100 years from now.  What sort of a legacy do you want left behind.  Will others take up your vision?  And remember do not judge - just write!  Reach deep into the center of your being.

Friday, January 22, 2010

This weekend try creating a vision beyond your wildest imagination!  Think things you have never thought, write things you have never written (that’s what Dave Ellis teaches).  Go deep from each card you already have.  If one card is a bigger home.  Write 20 - 30 or more describing the home, in detail.  Get very clear in each area.  Some will say:  “But Jo, I love my life, it’s perfect the way it is.”  That’s great - Now plan for growth!

'Live out of your imagination, not your history.'

Dr. Stephen Covey

“...Dwell in possibility.”

—  Emily Dickinson

Monday, January 18, 2010

I do hope you had a joyful and productive weekend - I did.  The weather was beautiful in New England, at least on Saturday, and I got some long desired out side time.  Some of you are most likely still enjoying the long weekend.  Martin Luther King was a man with a dream.  His vision was so powerful it lived beyond his life.  That’s the kind of vision I want for you.  Get out your cards and imagine the possibilities. I   came up with several new 3 X 5 cards ---- I really want warm weather for more than a short New England summer..... I am letting my imagination run wild.

Friday, January 15, 2010

I hope you got your 3X5 cards!  They really are a great way to start your journey.  Ask yourself:  “What do I want” write one answer on each card.  No judgement!  Ask the question about every area of your life, carry the cards with you all weekend and whenever you think of something write it down...... You can sort and edit later - for now write everything you think of!.  Don’t worry about the why or how just yet!  The more you know about what you really want the easier it will be to make decisions.

Wednesday, January 13, 2010

Is your imagination working overtime?  I hope so!  Are you writing all your ideas down so you can review you vision and have it pull you forward.  Again I hope so!  Are you a yellow pad person, 3X5 card type,  do you use  your computer or maybe a journal?  It doesn’t really matter!!!  What ever works for you!  I am going to ask you to think about converting to 3X5 cards at least for your beginning work.  Think about it, go out and buy a few packs of cards and we will talk more on Friday.

Monday, January 11, 2010

Imagine what you could do if you KNEW that you were free.  Today we are the result of the choices we made yesterday.  Today’s choices create tomorrow...... Engage your imagination and choose well!

Friday, January 8, 2010

I just took a new look at my quote for this week.  “It’s kind of fun to do the impossible.”  The impossible that Disney was doing, is now out dated.  The earth isn’t flat, we can fly and who needs a wire to talk on the phone.  The impossible comes from the imagination of a dreamer, a visionary, an ordinary person who is not afraid to think outside the box.  As you build your vision don’t limit yourself by what you or others think is possible.  If everyone did that, we would still be living in caves carving pictures on the wall for the next generation.  No, for that we would need a tool!  Do your part in bringing about evolutionary growth in our world society.  The children deserve the best we can imagine.

Wednesday, January 6, 2010

What are you reading?  One of my goals is to read at least twice as much as I did last year.  And not just the marshmallow fluff, though that is fun!  Why reinvent the wheel - find out what is working for others and build from there or invent something new.  I love a book that compels me to think something I have never thought and inspires me beyond the written words.

Monday, January 4, 2010

It is official!  The holidays are over and we are all back to work.  Some of you have great plans set out for 2010 ( I congratulate you! ) and some are looking at the same piles you left behind on your desk in 2009.  Most are probably in between.  Maybe you have some good ideas that you haven’t written down yet or you have and think them impossible!

I challenge you to spend some time this week and really use your imagination.  Come up with a vision that seems to be totally impossible, break it down into doable parts.  Look at all areas of your life! Look at long term visions and short term targets.  Look at where you are already great and where you need to change or grow.  Take at least one hour this week to think about what you need to let go of in order to move forward.

Then start having some fun doing the impossible.

To paraphrase Henry Ford..... If you think you can or you think you can’t, you are probably right!  I am thinking  I can!!

Friday, January 1, 2010

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

IMAGINE THE POSSIBILITIES - CREATE YOUR VISION AND MAKE IT SO!!!

MORNING THOUGHTS

INTENTION

Friday, February 26, 2010

Last weekend in February --- I have set my intentions!  I will be sure over the weekend that they are challenging - realistic - doable - fun and most of all desirable!!  Have a great weekend!

Monday, February 22, 2010

Was it a great weekend for you.  February is quickly coming to a close... spend some quality time with out distractions pondering and writing out your intentions.

Friday, February 19, 2010

Flying through time and space - What are your intentions for this weekend?

Wednesday, February 17, 2010

I have been here on the west coast for a week now.....I guess it is true that time flies when you are having fun..... And my # 1 intention was to have fun.

Wednesday, February 10, 2010

I am about 35,469 ft. above the Rockies going 511 MPH!  From this perspective the snow is rather beautiful when we get a quick peak through the clouds....... I did get out of Boston just in time and I will be very happy to spend the next two weeks in San Francisco.

Monday, February 8, 2010

Down by 10 at the end of the first quarter and not expected to win in the first place!  They held their dream and played their game -  WON their game.  (31 - 17)  They had the resolve to make it happen.   Do you???

Friday, February 5, 2010

Nothing happens... but first the dream.     Carl Sandburg

To hold the dream with out intention is but a dream always.  Set your intentions to move toward your dream enjoying the journey and delighting in the inspirations that come your way.  Let go of your blocks and negative self talk.

Wednesday, February 3, 2010

Want to and excited about, obligation and should......... be very careful how you set your intentions.  When you set an intention and don’t follow through, you fall out of integrity with yourself and lose personal power.  Pay attention to your language.

Monday, February 1, 2010

I hope you all had a great January and used the time well to continue your journey with passion and excitement!  One of my 3x5 cards was to be in a constant state of learning.  From that card I created many more.  Then I did some brainstorming ---- Then I worked on ways to share my learning.  And now I shall set intentions to move forward.  This is going to be an exciting month...... Start sorting and expanding your cards......

Lets meet and get to know each other!

MORNING THOUGHTS

ACTION

Wednesday, March 31, 2010

This is it.  1st quarter 2010 is winding down....... some time today take 15 or 20 minutes and make a quick list of all the things the went well this quarter.  You just might surprise yourself!!

Monday, March 29, 2010

I had an incredibly productive weekend - and a great time clearing out!! What a feeling!  Are you ready to start the second quarter?  Try something different!

Friday, March 26, 2010

Last weekend of the 1st quarter - Make it a good one!!  A great time to get to the spring cleaning.

Wednesday, March 24, 2010

In my bamboo hut this spring,

there is nothing,

there is everything.

>*<

We really do still have everything we need!  We have our minds and our spirits, we have our attitudes.  We know what we want.  We have everything we need to create the life we envision!  Believe this!

>*<My favorite haiku - the book packed up - I can‘t reference the author.

Monday, March 22, 2010

At 1:32 PM EDT on Saturday I was enjoying my first picnic lunch at the beach!!!  I did test the water after lunch and it was a bit too chilly for my liking!!  The simple joy of being at the beach in shorts and a cotton shirt made my day!!  And to think it was snowing in Oklahoma City, go figure!

One weekend of flooding the next of spring fever --- Time now to get back to work.........

Friday, March 19, 2010

I am sure you are all aware that tomorrow is the first day of Spring!  Here in the north east it is going to be beautiful.  I hope you plan something wonderful to celebrate the event.  I will either go for a bike ride or perhaps go to the beach.  Just for the record the Vernal (aka spring) equinox is at 1:32 PM EDT.

Wednesday, March 17, 2010

St Patrick’s Day - Living in the Boston area it is all around - parades, green beer and shamrocks.  I for one have always liked the corn-beef and cabbage but I pass on the parade and green beer.  A good reason to call friends and have them over for dinner!

Monday, March 15, 2010

Sometimes you have a great inspired action plan in place for the weekend  and something comes along that simply must be dealt with.  Three days of rain and a burned out sump pump can do just that!  The water was under control before the furnace was under water so all is well  --  Just a bit of a mess that must be cleaned up and of course many projects that are sitting undone......  It is, by the way, still raining.  The wind is lighter this morning so the fear of trees coming down has subsided some.  And life goes on -- and I get back on track!!

Friday, March 12, 2010

Having said what I said on Wednesday the first half of yesterday was totally scattered....... I out did myself!  Then, I realized I was simply trying to avoid dealing with a web site situation!  One of the joys  of  modern technology is that a little glitch can drive a normal person crazy!!  I decided to take my advice and really focus on the action of the hour!! It works!! I found a very workable solution in less than 45 minutes and was then able to go on to far more interesting and fun work without distraction!

Wednesday, March 10, 2010

Remember to focus - really focus on the action of the hour..... Multitasking is not really all it is cracked up to be - It simply scatters you!

Monday, March 8, 2010

I hope that everyone had a glorious weekend --- Here in the North East it was spring like!  Just being outside was invigorating.  And it looks like today is going to be more of the same.  It just might be time to get the bike out --- That would help in the health and fitness section of my life.

Friday, March 5, 2010

This weekend take one area of your life where you have created a great long range vision and set powerful intentions to get there and work from the vision back to today and create an action plan.  Sit quietly and meditate before you start writing.  When you are “finished” set it aside for a while.  In a day or so you will want to read it and add a few points.

Wednesday, March 3, 2010

When do you plan your day?  As you go along, first thing in the morning or perhaps as you finish one day you set out the plans for the next........ Then again you might think about pulling the week and month together.  The more you know where you are going the more likely you are to get there.  Check your calendar right now --- It will tell you a great deal about where you are going!!

Monday, March 1, 2010

Inspired action - not just action for the sake of being busy.  When you plan your day be sure that the action you are taking will take you where you want to go.

MORNING THOUGHTS

APRIL  - FOCUS

Friday, April 30, 2010

OK so Wednesday, in the middle of a busy week is not the best time to go looking for some stones and playing around with them.  This weekend give yourself an hour or so get a feel for the balancing project.  Be sure your stones are a little irregular, after all I will bet that each section of our life is a bit different!

Wednesday, April 28, 2010

The blog is about getting rid of excess and a fun experiment about balance - check it out!
Blog_1/Entries/2010/4/26_RANDOM_THOUGHTS.html
then go get some little stones and try the experiment.  I think you will find it interesting.  Be sure to look at it from the perspective of your life.  Here are my 8 stones and piling them one

on top to the other I have gotten to 6 before

the crash.  Have fun.

Monday, April 26, 2010

I am thinking that it all works,  I do hope so!!  I also found, or didn’t find, some missing newsletters - they are all there now... I have decided that this web site is a work in progress.  Any suggestions you have for improving it will be listened to!!

e-mail me

Make this last week in April the best it can be!!

Friday, April 23, 2010

Sorry the balance quiz is not quite ready --- i will get it up over the weekend!!  I am sure you can see I have been playing around with my front page --- by Monday morning it will be all set!!!  I just have to focus.......

Wednesday, April 21, 2010

Have you ever noticed how everything works better when we work together?

Monday, April 19, 2010

It is a beautiful day for a marathon - part of me wishes I was running!!

Friday, April 16, 2010

"Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence" -- Helen Keller

If you are running in Boston on Monday, have fun and finish strong!

Wednesday, April 14, 2010

My blog this week is all about letting go - check it out -
Blog_1/Entries/2010/4/13_FOCUS_3.html

As you move along in a focused manner you are going to meet the judges and critics - thank them for their perspective and let it go if it does not serve you vision.

Monday, April 12, 2010

This is the final week before the Boston Marathon so I thought it fitting to have a quote from Joan...... If any one saw her run that 1st woman’s Olympic marathon then you know focus!! WOW!!

Friday, April 9, 2010

Do you ever think about how quickly our world changes - How much new information is presented to us each day?  Remember your first cell phone - your first lap top computer - and that is just 15 +/- years..... Do you realize how much we have to learn and grow every day just to keep up?  If we don’t focus we could easily get overwhelmed or scattered!  The trick is to keep up with the world and focused on your vision.

Wednesday, April 7, 2010

"There is only one time that is important - Now! It is the most important time because it is the only time when we have any power.

>>> Leo Tolstoy

Monday, April 5, 2010

Though Spring arrives in March the beautiful warm weather doesn’t usually show up till late April early May here in the north-east!   This year the  wonderful warm Spring  weather is very early  I have Spring Fever already..... I was going to talk about focus before this delightful plague hit!  Well OK!  Use this week to finish up your spring cleaning!  Clear out anything you haven’t used in a while and make way for the new.

Red Sox got off to a good start last night!!

Friday, April 2, 2010

The windows are open this morning, in the east the sky is orange, the fields are green, the robins and other birds are out in full force - a wonderful way to start the day!  Spring has arrived!!  This weekend would be a good time to get the bikes out and go for a ride.... if that is not your thing engage in some other form of outside play!!

MORNING THOUGHTS

MAY

Monday, May 31, 2010

Who many wonderful things are you, or could you be the source of?  Are you playing small in any parts of your life?  Are you living your best life?

Friday, May 28, 2010

It is a beautiful morning - Get your work done early and have a great weekend!

Monday, May 24, 2010

I find it hard to believe that this is the last full week in May and next weekend is Memorial Day!  I have been wearing white for weeks now!  Oh well, that must be a 20th Century rule..............

How many other “old rules” are you holding on to?  Are they holding you back or just a bit silly?  It is time to let them go?  Are there some new rules that we should look into......

Integrity has no need of rules.

--- Albert Camus ---

If you obey all the rules, you miss all the fun.

--- Katharine Hepburn ---

Maybe, just maybe, we ought to have fun living with integrity!

Friday, May 21, 2010

And a beautiful morning it is --- I think I shall go for a bike ride before work.  What is the first thing you notice when you wake up in the morning?  What sort of thoughts start your day?  It might be a good idea to start noticing for they do set the tone for the entire day......

Wednesday, May 19, 2010

So what happened to Monday?  As I recall It was one of those beautiful days where everything flows.....I even found a bit of time to have my lunch outside while reading a book.  It doesn’t get any better than that.  Who knows why I had no morning thoughts.......In the fullness to time it matters not.....

The thing to think about is what does really matter, NOW and in the fullness of time --- In your life?

Friday, May 14, 2010

When you change what you think about something, everything changes!  Try it.  It just might prove interesting.

Wednesday, May 12, 2010

Live today with gratitude, I think you will be glad you did.

Monday, May 10, 2010

This week’s quote struck my fancy this morning.  Think of all our beautiful spring days when we “hang out” and enjoy the new found warmth of the season, they can’t be a waste!  However our culture even has a term for this pleasure “spring fever” as if it is a sickness.  MERCY!

When you think about it, it is all part of a balanced life!  ENJOY!  Waste a little time today!

Friday, May 7, 2010

Have a great mother’s day weekend!

Wednesday, May 5, 2010

In the interest of balance and thanks to our early wonderful weather I am back on my bike.  Yesterday when  I was two miles from home my seat went all wiggly!  The short ride home was slow and uncomfortable but the lesson did not go unlearned.  Be prepared!  Doesn’t matter if it is work or play gather the necessary tools to get the job done.  I can assure you that I now carry an allen wrench in my bikes bag along with my cell phone!

Monday, May 3, 2010

I find it hard to believe that it is May..... But then, this weekend was more like August here in New England.  Go figure!!  That old rule about not wearing white before Memorial day went out the window this year.... I guess we are lucky that it is 2010 and people don’t pay as much attention to those rules :-)

So how did you do with balancing your stones..... Did you discover that it was much like life - if you just put one thing on top of another balance is very hard to achieve and not really all that flexible!

I never did get more than six before they all fell.  Lets

be honest, if we can’t be flexible we will never be

balanced!  So try being creative and see how that goes.

To be continued in the blog tomorrow!

MORNING THOUGHTS

JUNE

Monday, June 28, 2010

This moring I find myself in S.C. - Soon I will be in Florida --- That last week in MA I up graded my computer and a lot changed!  This was a good thing - however, my internet connection was not great so I do not have the up grades added ---- all in due time!!

Monday, June 21, 2010

Happy Summer!!  Somehow I think everyone ought to have an ice cream cone today!  What is your favorite flavor?  There is something very relaxing about having a cone, especially on a hot summer day.  You do have to focus on the pleasure at hand or you will have a major mess.

Friday, June 18, 2010

Today I added to the list and put all the items in my calendar.   Also decided to set up a 3rd quarter challenge.  Great time to bump up creativity and fun along with work goals.

Wednesday, June 16, 2010

Last night I made my list of everything I need to attend to before I hit the road.

Monday, June 14, 2010

Two weeks from today I will be on the final leg of my journey going through Georgia and then across the top of Florida and down the west coast to Sarasota.  I have a lot to do in the next couple of weeks --- I guess I will have to move into that “pre-vacation” mode where all work comes easy and gets done in record time.....Maybe I will take notes!!

Friday, June 11, 2010

Do something fun this weekend...... If you haven’t already planned a summer vacation you might start thinking about it.

Wednesday, June 9, 2010

On my blog  yesterday I spoke of road trip planning being like life planning and this morning I thought about mind maps.  You start out with a big picture target in the center with smaller targets or projects going off the hub.  Then for each smaller target you can crate a new mind map......  rather like having a map of the country, then the north/south east segments and then the states and cities that will be visited.  Do you spend as much time planning the segments of your life as you do your vacations?

Monday, June 7, 2010

What do you think about when that mid-afternoon slowdown hits..... a nap, a cup of coffee, a cold drink, a walk, 5 minutes of meditation or perhaps you take five to visualize your target and get excited about your journey?

Friday, June 4, 2010

June is a special month for so many --- graduations and weddings come to mind first.  Both are major life markings for leaving one way of life and moving into something new and exciting.  We do well at celebrating major events, but how many little things go uncelebrated?  We celebrate finishing a marathon but do we celebrate the training runs that are at the heart of getting to the finish line?  How about getting the applications in the mail for school or starting to date again after a break up??  The early steps are the foundation of life, give them and yourself the credit you deserve.

Tuesday, June 1, 2010

We have had more summer like days so far this year than we had all summer last year here in New England.  Or at least it seams that way!!

So here we are JUNE 1 - At the end of this month we will be at the half way point for 2010 are you on target?  I am a bit behind,  just a bit.  Lets just see how good I can make June!!
